Couch to 5k


Thank you for your interest in the Nantwich Running Club Couch to 5K programme.

We plan to start the first group session on Saturday 8th January and repeat each Saturday for a further eight weeks.

So, the last group session will take place on Saturday 5th March.

Meeting Location/Venue

We meet in the car park at Nantwich Town FC (CW5 5BS) at 08.45AM to complete registration, have a warm up and then set off at 09.00AM.

Training Plan

Once you’re registered you will have access to our Training Plan. It will give you an idea of how each session progresses over the nine-week period.
It’s our objective to get you running for about 30 mins by week nine. At the end of the programme you can have a go at completing a parkrun (5km).


UK Athletics qualified Run Leaders and other experienced members of the club support our weekly group sessions. You’ll be well looked after and supported throughout the programme.


From past experience we know that some participants will be fitter/ and/or quicker than others. So, we’ll create small sub-groups of around 5-10 people who are closely matched in terms of fitness.

We strongly recommend that you start some brisk walking for 30 mins, three times a week. You’ll find the start of the programme easier to get into if you do.


Invest in a well-fitting pair of trainers. They needn’t be expensive, but they must be comfortable. Think about your normal shoe size and go up by about ½ a size. When your feet get hot they expand so, give yourself some room.

We’re starting the programme in January so it might be cold/wet. Wear a few layers of lightweight waterproof clothing which you can remove if you get too hot.


You will only complete the booking and registration process (and therefore be able to attend the group sessions) once the one-off payment of £10.00 has been made
